These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern reservations and vehicle rentals provided by VVM Car Rental ("VVM," "we," "us," or "our").
By making a reservation, signing a rental agreement, accepting possession of a vehicle, or using a VVM vehicle, the renter ("Renter," "you," or "your") agrees to comply with these Terms and the applicable Rental Agreement.

Driver eligibility
To rent a vehicle, the Renter must satisfy VVM's eligibility requirements and all applicable laws.
VVM may require:
- A valid driver's license
- Proof of identity
- Proof of insurance where required
- A valid payment method
- A security deposit
- Additional documentation reasonably required to verify eligibility
VVM reserves the right to refuse a rental when legally permitted, including when eligibility requirements are not satisfied.

Authorized drivers
Only the Renter and drivers specifically authorized by VVM may operate the rental vehicle.
The Renter is responsible for ensuring that unauthorized individuals do not operate the vehicle.
Allowing an unauthorized driver to operate the vehicle may result in additional charges, termination of the rental, loss of protections, and liability for resulting damages, to the extent permitted by law.

Reservations
A reservation represents a request for a vehicle for the selected rental period. Reservation confirmation does not necessarily guarantee a specific vehicle unless expressly stated in writing.
VVM may substitute a comparable vehicle when necessary due to availability, maintenance, safety, or other legitimate business reasons.

Rental period
The rental period begins at the scheduled pickup time and ends when the vehicle is returned to VVM or otherwise accepted by VVM.
The Renter must return the vehicle at the agreed date, time, and location.
Late returns may result in additional rental charges and other applicable fees disclosed in the rental agreement.

Payments
The Renter agrees to pay all applicable rental charges, taxes, fees, deposits, and other amounts authorized under the rental agreement.
Charges may include, where applicable:
- Rental charges
- Mileage charges
- Fuel charges
- Late-return charges
- Cleaning charges
- Damage charges
- Towing charges
- Toll charges
- Parking charges
- Traffic or administrative fees
- Recovery charges
- Other disclosed fees

Security deposit
VVM may require a security deposit before releasing a vehicle.
The deposit may be used, to the extent permitted by law and the rental agreement, to satisfy amounts owed for damage, unpaid rental charges, fuel, excessive cleaning, late return, tolls, tickets, or other authorized charges.
Any remaining refundable amount will be returned according to VVM's applicable procedures and applicable law.

Vehicle condition
The Renter should inspect the vehicle before leaving the rental location and promptly notify VVM of any existing damage or condition that is not documented.
By accepting the vehicle, the Renter acknowledges responsibility for the vehicle during the rental period, subject to the terms of the Rental Agreement and applicable law.

Vehicle use
The vehicle must be operated safely and legally.
Unless specifically authorized in writing, the vehicle may not be:
- Used for illegal activities
- Used for racing or speed testing
- Used to tow or push another vehicle
- Used off-road
- Used to transport hazardous materials
- Used in a manner that violates the vehicle manufacturer's requirements
- Used by an unauthorized driver
- Used outside permitted geographic areas
- Used for commercial activities when prohibited by the rental agreement

Rideshare and delivery use
The Renter may not use a VVM vehicle for Uber, Lyft, DoorDash, delivery services, passenger transportation, or other commercial or gig-economy activities unless VVM has expressly authorized such use in writing and all applicable insurance and legal requirements are satisfied.

Fuel
The vehicle should be returned with the required fuel level stated in the Rental Agreement.
If the vehicle is returned with less fuel than required, VVM may charge the applicable fuel replacement fee and any disclosed service charge.

Mileage
Mileage limitations, if applicable, will be disclosed in the applicable reservation or Rental Agreement.
Additional mileage may be charged at the rate disclosed at the time of rental.

Smoking and vaping
Smoking or vaping inside a VVM vehicle is prohibited unless expressly permitted by VVM.
Where permitted by applicable law and disclosed in the rental agreement, VVM may charge a reasonable cleaning or remediation fee for smoke, vaping, or related odors or residue.

Pets and animals
Pets may be subject to VVM's vehicle-use and cleaning policies.
Service animals will be accommodated as required by applicable law.
The Renter may be responsible for damage or excessive cleaning caused by an animal to the extent permitted by law.

Tolls, tickets, and violations
The Renter is responsible for tolls, parking charges, traffic citations, and other violations incurred during the rental period, subject to applicable law.
VVM may charge applicable administrative fees when disclosed in the Rental Agreement.

Accidents
In the event of an accident, the Renter must:
- Stop safely and comply with applicable law.
- Contact emergency services when appropriate.
- Exchange required information with other parties.
- Notify VVM as soon as reasonably possible.
- Cooperate with insurance claims and investigations.
- Not admit liability or make unauthorized settlements on behalf of VVM.
The Renter must not abandon the vehicle without authorization except where necessary for safety.

Breakdown or mechanical problems
If the vehicle experiences a mechanical problem, the Renter should contact VVM or the designated roadside assistance provider as soon as reasonably possible.
The Renter should not authorize major repairs without VVM's approval unless necessary to protect the vehicle or occupants from immediate harm.

Loss, damage, or theft
The Renter may be responsible for loss of or damage to the vehicle occurring during the rental period, subject to the Rental Agreement, applicable insurance, waivers, and applicable law.
The Renter must immediately report theft, vandalism, significant damage, or other serious incidents to VVM and the appropriate authorities.

Personal property
VVM is not responsible for personal property left in a rental vehicle except to the extent required by applicable law.
Renter should remove all personal belongings before returning the vehicle.

Vehicle monitoring
Vehicles may contain GPS, telematics, security, or other monitoring technology.
Such technology may be used for fleet management, safety, theft prevention, vehicle recovery, mileage verification, maintenance, and investigation of suspected misuse, subject to applicable law and VVM's Privacy Policy.

Cancellations
Cancellation and refund rules will depend on the reservation terms presented to the Renter at the time of booking.
Certain reservations may be refundable, partially refundable, or non-refundable.
The applicable cancellation policy will control.

Return of vehicle
The Renter must return the vehicle:
- On or before the agreed return time
- To the agreed location
- In substantially the same condition, ordinary wear and tear excepted
- With the required fuel level
- With all keys, equipment, and accessories
Failure to return the vehicle as agreed may result in additional charges and other remedies permitted by law.

Early termination
Returning a vehicle early does not automatically entitle the Renter to a refund.
Any refund or adjustment will be determined according to the applicable reservation and Rental Agreement.

Termination of rental
VVM may terminate a rental when permitted by law if the Renter violates the Rental Agreement, fails to make required payments, provides false information, uses the vehicle improperly, or otherwise creates a material safety, legal, financial, or property risk.

No warranty
Except as expressly provided in the Rental Agreement or required by applicable law, VVM does not provide warranties beyond those legally required.
Nothing in these Terms is intended to waive any consumer protection, warranty, or other right that cannot legally be waived.

Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, VVM will not be responsible for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from a rental, except where such limitation is prohibited by law.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited.

Indemnification
To the extent permitted by applicable law, the Renter agrees to be responsible for claims, losses, damages, penalties, or expenses arising from the Renter's unauthorized, unlawful, or negligent use of the vehicle or violation of the Rental Agreement.

Compliance with law
The Renter agrees to comply with all federal, state, and local laws applicable to the use of the vehicle.

Governing law
The Rental Agreement and these Terms will be governed by the laws specified in the applicable Rental Agreement, subject to applicable federal law and mandatory consumer-protection laws.

Changes to these terms
VVM may update these Terms from time to time. The version applicable to a rental will generally be the version incorporated into or referenced by the applicable Rental Agreement.

Entire agreement
The signed Rental Agreement, reservation terms, applicable disclosures, and these Terms constitute the agreement between VVM and the Renter concerning the rental, subject to applicable law.
If there is a conflict between these Terms and a signed Rental Agreement, the signed Rental Agreement will control to the extent stated in that agreement.
